In The Company Of Truth

Choose Wisely The Company That You Keep
Is there one particular person you adore spending time with? You talk about your lives, your loves, your future plans, and inspire each other when times are tough. You think about your conversations and laugh at your goofy jokes long after you’ve parted.
Perhaps you also have a high school friend you have dinner with when you’re in town. They expound mostly on their “terrible” ex partners and coworkers, or the state of politics. Every positive comment or solution you come up with is wiped out with a deluge of excuses. Too tired to argue, you start agreeing just to have some form of harmony. You call it a night feeling unsettled and deflated thinking, ‘That was WORK.’”
The energy we receive from those around us has a profound effect on our psyche, both negative and positive. Where experiencing individuals who embrace searing judgment and cynicism can be exhausting, being in the company of people who are authentic, honest, and open is uplifting and empowering.
Vibrationally, we are all energetic beings. We are continually in a state of vibrational give and take. In many ways it’s like a transfer of radiant energy. When a radiant object is placed near another radiant object they share their warmth and are equally charged. However, when a radiant object is placed next to a cooler object, that cool one forces the heat from the radiant body to warm itself, leaving both at only half capacity.
Being in the company of truth means existing in the highest vibrational possibility. Our relationship with others can raise our frequency to its zenith or zap our energy resources and inhibit our ability to enjoy the benefit of freedom, authenticity, and being exactly who we are. If fact, if we absorb the negative energy long enough we begin to take it on as our own. Before you know it, we begin to feel the cold vampire of pessimism sucking away the radiant energy from our lives.
What is the payoff for spending time in the presence of dissonance? Is it easier to succumb to the “Woe Is Me” doctrine to avoid the fear of failure? They say, “the pessimist is never disappointed,” but why reside in a perpetual state of doubt? We must choose wisely both the energy we embody and company we keep. It doesn’t mean we ignore or avoid the people that vibrate from a different level than our own. We simply choose to override the cooler perspective and warm the world with our rejuvenating vibrational truth.
