Speak Your Truth!

post image

More and more I am lovingly reminded of the power of my voice and the impact it has on the lives of so many. It is an honor to support an ever growing community on their journey. With this honor comes great responsibility.

It is time for everyone to authentically begin voicing their thoughts and feelings. We are at the leading edge of human consciousness; therefore no subject should be off limits. I invite an educated, open conversation on all topics so that we may learn from one another.

I was happy to see an email from a brother on the path expressing his opinion and speaking his truth in response to my Obama post. YES! At last somebody expressing their thoughts and feelings instead of just agreeing with mine. Come on people, let’s get vocal. Share your truth even if you disagree with mine.

As a result of his loving and engaging email, I would like to clarify some points from my “A Call to Action” post.

I am in no way expecting solutions to come from the very system that created the problems. In order for us to accomplish change we need these old structures to dissolve allowing for a new, more enlightened way of governance to emerge. Obama’s recognition by the Nobel committee was an illustration of the power of possibilities. I believe that as a politician, Obama cannot achieve peace alone. But I do believe that in concert, we can. The burden of responsibility now lies on us as citizens of our planet. We are the ones who will realize this goal. It is our intent, our work, and our contribution that is making the difference at the deepest level, so that peace can exist on every level.

Let us not forget that public figures are merely the face for a larger consciousness. Gandhi could not have liberated India from British rule without the support of the people. People believed in what he represented. He gave voice to the larger collective consciousness. The same can be said for Nelson Mandela and South Africa.

Collectively, we are the force behind the public face of peace. The world will be at peace when we are at peace with ourselves. And not a day before.

There is only one way to be at peace with myself and that is through selfless service. Sound corny and Pollyanna-ish? There’s an old saying from a former sweet old guru of mine: “All love is directed toward the self.” For those of you who don’t believe, think about every time you’ve done something good for somebody or given someone a gift. How did it make you feel, hmmm? Give a baby a trinket. What does it do to your heart?

After our last meeting Panache, I did not feel good about myself. In fact, I felt I was a failure. I thought it would be a good idea to disappear (just like my fingerprints seem to be doing). You told us it might take a few weeks before we noticed ‘change.’

I am speechless. There are never words for what’s happening within—for the formless. Can’t wait for Orlando.

In response to Susan: I discovered years ago that one of the greatest gifts we can give to each other is to receive because of the wonderful feeling gives us when we give from our hearts. Receiving from our hearts is the return gift we give when others uplift us and themselves by giving. Hope this makes sense. Since the Atlanta gathering I am beyond words so much of the time.  Wonderful stuff - Very excited about Orlando.

I like the fact Panache encourages our opinions. With Obama and the peace prize, it may have been given prematurely some feel but it was given in that right now he is in a pivotal position for change in the whole world situation. If enough of us the people energetically meditate on peace and love, and for forgiveness and compassion to have its way only then can peace come. So why Obama, well the US is the major player in all the conflicts, we as a country have to let go of 9/11, fear, hate, even religious intolerance. We have to forgive and be the peacemakers and start living by love and acceptance again. As the President he is in the position where he can influence that but he does need the prayers and energy of the people behind him. Our energy, beliefs and emotions shape our countries leaders and thus policy. I do agree change in government is needed as we evolve, less corporate and special interest involvement would be nice and more we the people. But the future will take care of itself if we do our part in the present.
We the people of the US and world have tremendous power through our personal and collective thoughts and emotions. I know one person can do little to change the world but when even a small group decides to let go of anger and embrace love and forgiveness to smile instead of frown, to accept everyone as special it is contagious and spreads. Peace and love, happiness and joy starts with us as individuals. Thus change is in our hands and minds though our intentions, thoughts and emotions we are collectively the agents of change and planetary evolution.
I look forward to the Florida gathering and have a wonderful weekend with all my brothers and sisters.

The buddhist monk went to a hot dog vender in New York and gave him $20 and said make me one with everything. The vender put extra of eveything on the hot dog,  gave the monk the hotdog, then went to serve the next customer. The monk said where is my change? The vender looked him in the eye and said ‘change comes from within’ Lets make the change now. Love Steven
