What is More Important…Faith, Belief or Trust?

What is it that keeps you stuck on the hamster wheel of life, feeling victimized by all that is going on around you? “This lousy economy is keeping me from finding a job…. My husband doesn’t understand what makes me happy…. My daughter didn’t get into the right school… I lost my retirement money when the stock market crashed so now I’ll never be able to enjoy the best years of my life… My ill health is preventing me from living my dreams.” In sessions, I hear excuses just like this and they go on and on.
There is only one thing missing in your life. It is not faith and it is not belief. What keeps you from moving into a deep and profound peace is your lack of TRUST. Trust is the key to liberation.
For those on a spiritual or religious path, the idea that a higher power is in charge of your existence is not a new concept. So why then are you questioning your journey? Why are you second guessing your life?
Having faith or belief is simply not enough. Trust is absolute. One’s faith can be tested. Your beliefs can be challenged. Trust comes from the heart and is rooted in a deeper level of consciousness. It comes from a profound place of knowing that you are divine and that your life is happening in divine order.
In any moment of frustration, agony, sadness or fear you can bring trust into your experience and expand your consciousness. For example when you are frustrated that life isn’t going the way you think it should, instead of continuing on this destructive path of frustration, simply breathe and acknowledge that every experience is unfolding in divine order. In consciously doing this practice, the stress, the worry and the fear will dissipate. Complete trust allows you to simply enjoy the ride of your life knowing that with the Divine in charge you couldn’t ask for a better driver.
.
Jesus, Buddha and Krishna lived a life of complete and total trust. Trust has the ability to propel you into complete realization and opens you up to a life filled with peace and authentic surrender. Trust removes the worry and fear from life and brings absolute clarity.
Practice the principle of trust. As you do you will witness your life transform before your eyes. Allow the Divine to lead as you relinquish control. Follow lovingly the path that unfolds before you. This is the path to your freedom and the map to your road home.
Trust your Self. You know more than you think you do.

I am overjoyed that God led me to your words of wisdom, reminding me of this Truth.
Thank you, Panache.

Oh yes. Since meeting you Panache, I am learning to trust. I am a writer and writers can translate thoughts into words that become actions that can change attitudes and even minds. What they cannot do is translate the formless to words. But I am also a swimmer, and writers can do what swimmers do—dive deep, exult in the silent liberating depths of that silence, surface, splash around and whoop out loud in elation. Way out on the water, where only God can hear me, there is a blessed feeling of communing. In this summer of global turmoil I can dive deep into quietude, at home and at sea. Sometimes I surface with an oyster.
I will share with you the secret I found when last I pried open my oyster. The swimmer will say: “Though I cannot leave my footsteps in the ocean, it is the physical intimate solitude of diving and surfacing that sets me free.” Agreeing, the solitary writer adds: “Yes, but it is in the waters of pure consciousness that I roam, and here have found the blue pearl of wisdom.”
Unencumbered by conversation, swimmer and writer dive deep; wander unexplored islands in the stream to be one with each other and the distant shore.

Thank you Panache. Again you inspire me with your words of wisdom. I continually read Playing Your Part in the office when things get stressful and I now add the essay of TRUST. Now as I take a slow conscious breath, I hear TRUST in the silence of my consciousness. Acceptance and Trust. Those are my touchstones to keep me in the Now. Since meeting you, I feel the silence and peace much more often in my daily life (not just in meditation) and for that I love you.
With gratitude,
Marcy

After waxing poetic, the final paragraph of my last blog got left behind and did not make it into print. Panache, I want you to know that learning to trust has always been most difficult for me. But I know I am making progress. I no longer feel the need to define myself to myself or to others. Although I probably will always write, I am no longer Susan the writer, or Susan the anything. Recently I had to have my fingerprints taken for a license I needed. I had to go twice because they told me my fingerprints were disappearing! Sometimes I feel I am disappearing—I the labels. I even took down my website. It’s amusing and it’s liberating. Thank you, thank you for helping me know me. There’s such joy to be had. It’s so simple.

Panache:
Your presence is pure light. You stand in your power and express who you are in such a simple and humble way that touches my heart in a very profound way.
