What Is My Purpose?

Each of us is searching for a place to belong, a sanctuary to call home, a refuge in a world that appears to be spiraling into greater levels of chaos.
While this external quest plays out it is simultaneously mirrored by a deeper subtle pursuit, a perpetual game of hide and seek that we engage in with ourselves. The internal search for Who am I?
For some these relentless crusades feel more like a cruel joke to which there is no punch line or comedic relief.
Born of unresolved feelings of abandonment, loneliness and rejection a soul begins its journey into wholeness. An inner homing beacon leads it through life’s experiences on an earthly campaign to heal the illusion of separation from Source.
What lies at the end of the search is unknown. In fact the life-long pursuit was never about the destination. The ultimate treasure doesn’t reside in the quest’s completion but in the moment to moment experience of each step along the path. When we are able to relinquish the long-term goal we begin to enjoy the ride. It is at this moment, regardless of what is unfolding, that life becomes a grace filled experience.
This week The European Space Agency released the first ever image of the entire universe taken by the Planck telescope. I am intrigued by the strand of purple light that permeates through space. In the same way this extraordinary light pervades our known universe there is a strand of Divine light that connects each of us. Regardless of how broad or how far humanity’s search takes us – the light is always there.
Hide and seek may always be your game. Don’t ever forget, YOU’RE IT.
The ever changing nature of life as it is unfolding and the experience of the interconnectivity within, point to one conclusion; there is no answer. The search will continue. Life is simply a series of events bringing you to wherever you need to be. Savor the moments and soak in the landscape knowing that your inner homing beacon is guiding you from one perfect moment to the next.
Being lost allows you the experience of being found.
Uncertainty allows you the experience of knowing.
Surrendering allows you to finally be empowered.

Panache, you always seem to be saying what I need when I am going through exactly the things you talk about. I so appreciate your Presence in my life. I am so grateful for you.

Panache: I love your reference to the European Space Agency’s Planck Telescope’s extraordinary images of the known universe and its permeating colored lights. We are more than connected to that light. As you have said so many times, “everything is Divine.” We are that light.
In the new Science Channel program, “THROUGH THE WORMHOLE WITH MORGAN FREEMAN,” one of the episodes is called “What Happened Before The Beginning?”
I believe that before the beginning there was nothing, a vacuum; well not exactly nothing. According to quantum mechanics, the vacuum state is not totally empty. Well, how could consciousness be nothing? The vacuum state contains tiny momentary waves and particles that explode and go Bang! So our universe is constantly exploding, expanding and contracting into “nothing.” Right now it is expanding and we are along for the dizzying ride.
My head has always been in the stars and the Hayden Planetarium. But it’s people like you Panache that keep me from floating off into space. For me there no longer exists that enigmatic path, that constant search. There is only now and the light and I consist of that light and you continue to be the beacon. You are my dear (baby) brother whom I will always love.

In the beginning Grandmother sat in the void, alone, watching the darkness. Finally, after eons, she decided she was lonely so she created herself again and became Double Woman. Grandmother and her sister/self created the cosmos with sound, as they rattled their rattles and sang their songs of creation, and so we became ONE! I am a cosmic, universal part of the One and usually enjoy the mystery of the journey of becoming. I like the idea of remembering that I am “It” - looking and searching for all the parts of mySelf in a great game, in the twilight, with Mother calling us home for supper as the fireflies begin to dance. Life is good!

I will confess to being attached to peak experiences (or should I say peek experiences). Which I suppose is natural when we start out with needs and desires. Thanks for the reminder that each moment can be experienced as a manifestation of divine love
