Whitney Houston

post image

The untimely death of an individual like Whitney Houston leaves me with the burning question of what if?

What if someone had intervened? What if she had not met Bobby Brown? What would her legacy and impact have been on this planet if she had steered clear of the pitfalls of superstardom, fame and fortune? What if she could have realized for herself, what a perfect creation she was?

An angelic voice and presence gifted with the ability to stir the soul and rouse the human spirit is gone. She was a beloved angel that fell into a never ending abyss of drugs, alcohol, and public ridicule that would eventually claim her spirit.

I will miss Whitney, her presence, her beauty and her grace. I choose to remember her in all of her glory as the embodiment of a gift from God that touched the lives of millions of people. Her life was not lived in vain; her gift of music will forever resound in our lives and in our hearts and her story will serve as a harsh reminder that even the most blessed among us may, through a choice, set in motion a series of events that cannot be undone.

I mourn for her family and for those that she has left behind. There will never be another Whitney Houston; however the Divine’s promise is that when a bright light goes out, another will appear to take its place. To all of the lights that follow in our beloved Whitney’s footsteps may they use her life and her experiences as a touchstone that shelters them from the tempest that is fame.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for giving us the blessing of one of your beloved angels, Whitney Houston. Thank you for allowing us to experience your unconditional love through her voice. Although she is physically gone from our lives, we know that she is once again reunited with you. May everyone marvel in the magnificence of the blessing that she was, is, and always will be.

Amen

I Will Always Love You….

Thank you for this. It is oddly comforting to me to think that even you entertain thoughts of “what if…” To me, Whitney’s struggle was even more sad because of the depth of her faith; and my desire to believe in that power to heal; yet again I am reminded that healing has many forms, and my preferences have nought to do with it.

“Gone Too Soon”—For some reason I was listening to her music on Saturday and when the news came I denied it, then it was real… in that moment her songs filled my heart with joy and peace—she will live on forever in our hearts,  Thanks Panache for this beautiful tribute and prayer for Whitney.

Is it not true the everything is happening in Divine order….that this was the life story she wrote….the path she was meant to walk?

By crumlind on 02/14/2012

That is a beautiful tribute. So well said and true for so many in our world today.

I love your tribute to Whitney. However, the question “what if she never met Bobby Brown”? Implies that that he is at fault in some way.The media has always portrayed him to be the Bad Boy, or bad influence. Somehow beneath Whitney. While we all love the gift to music, and the world she is, many do not know that she was on the road to self destruction long before she met Bobby. The public was just unaware, and in fact she wore the pants in that relationship. We should all pray for her family, including Bobby, instead of blaming him.

You are so beautiful.  Thanks for this.  I was taken by surprise at how sad I felt when I heard the news. This post brought me comfort.  Love, Fay xox

It is very hard for an artist like Whitney to withstand the projections of millions of adoring fans.  It creates disturbance/holes in the energy body that make the famous very vulnerable to the dark side.  We idolize them and they become idolators,  of drugs, alcohol, money, fame, power, sex, the dark side, etc… (see Beyonce and Baphomet).  We need to do our best not to idolize.  We as “fans” are part of the problem when we elevate someone to megastar status.  They become projections of our disowned greatness.  It is a house of cards, because that much money and fame will only end up exaggerating any unhealed or un-integrated characteristics that the person has, which may be latent for a while (or not).  We are always so surprised when our idols fall.  I would say, enjoy the voice, etc…  but also see the HUMANITY of the one who has it.  Embrace your OWN magnificence.  See that which impresses you about them as a mirror of your own light and beauty, perhaps in other contexts, but whole and complete just the same.

Thank youvfor your beautiful prayer for Whitney. I pray her daughter will now learn from her mother’s choices…from her father’s choices so that another light is not distinguished too soon. I too loved this angel and her angelic voice and feel so sad ...that my only comfort is that maybe in her passing, one or many will learn from her and choose to shine. God bless you, Whitney, and all whom you love

My sweetheart said, “You know how gifted an artist has been when her death causes sorrow all over the world. Whitney Houston is such a loss, and we all sorrow.”

Thank you, Panache, for this beautiful eulogy, for speaking what has been in my heart.

I know that the Light in Heaven is brighter while the Light on Earth dimmed for a moment when Whitney made her journey home.

Blessings, love, and gratitude…

I am one of the Sons of “GOD” I to say (What if) “GOD” Put all things in your hands. It is up to us to do what “GOD” and “JESUS” say. If not all things change. “GOD” Be with us all, “GOD BLESS”

There are no “what if’s” in life only choices and whitney made her choices and it is all perfect. She continues to grow and evolve in her inner journey towards self.
