Chill

The acceptance of everything in your reality is the ultimate secret to liberation. How does this play out in your everyday life?

Chill Out. Just hearing these words communicates the perfect message as we cruise past the halfway mark of summer, a time when we slow down, relish the longer, warmer days and the less stressful life of increased play time, outdoor cookouts, lazy afternoons and vacations. This is the time to wind down and relax. Take a long deep breath and allow the tension to drain from your mind and your body. Surrender control to a source greater than you.

As a little girl, Jan remembers visiting local farms to watch chicks hatch. She was always among the first to try to rescue an emerging hatchling by grabbing an egg from the incubator to help free it from its seeming impenetrable prison. She was never comfortable with the farmer’s explanation that these circumstances, while appearing harsh to the eyes of an outsider, are natures way of preparing the chick to navigate the world outside the safety of the egg.

How often do you look at your life and experience the same feelings of unfairness? If life were only easier. If circumstances were only fairer. If you only felt better. If money were only more plentiful. If your spouse would stop doing what makes you crazy. If the love of your life would only show up. The litany of what ifs that are shared in sessions could fill pages.

Everything in your life is playing out as it is meant to. Every situation and every interaction is a God-given opportunity to move vibrationally higher by simply chilling out. Step out of the habit of complaining or being a victim. Move into a place of witnessing. As long as you hold what happens in your external reality responsible for your state of being - you will suffer.

So the next time your husband - or your kids - or your boss does something that triggers an emotion in you - don’t react. Simply breathe. Connecting to your breath connects you to the Divine. Relax your body and acknowledge what you are feeling… anger, sadness, frustration, or fear.  Once you name your feeling you can allow the emotion to leave your body. If you do fall into old habits and react - catch yourself. Then breathe and come back to center.

Chill out. God loves you in your every interaction

The Eternal Search for “Who Am I?”

The Past
I’m hiking alone on a Himalayan mountainside-my companions are back at the Snow View Hotel-when suddenly a wild looking man with a head of matted hair and matching tangled beard appears in my path. Barring my way, he engages in a non-stop, one-way dialogue. Barefoot and naked except for a tattered kaupina around his private parts, the man is impervious to the cold.
Tibet has already fallen. Yet my friends, one the son of the hotel owner, have all but convinced me it’s safe to trek with them to Lhasa. We’re to leave Nepal in two days. But I’m frozen in my Abercrombie boots, while Mr. bright and cheery chatters away. Not once does he stop his constant singsong prattle-in my face, nodding, chuckling and gesturing. When finally he turns and disappears into the mist, I realize I haven’t understood a word he’s said. Yet here I am alone on the icy slopes of the Annapurna Massif, with a colossal knowledge of something I quickly forget. I know I’m searching for something. I know I won’t find it here. But where? I know I’m not going to Lhasa. I know I’m no longer young and stupid-just young.

The Present
There have been many spiritual masters in my life. I’ve learned countless practices from mystics and gurus: various yogas, meditations and healing techniques. I’ve studied in ashrams, taught meditation and listened to brilliant new age teachers like Deepak Chopra who, along with Michael Beckwith and other popular luminaries have formed a high-minded association called “The Evolutionary Leaders.” These intellectuals speak knowingly of higher consciousness. Deepak Chopra’s legendary talks, books and retreats have enriched the lives of thousands. “You are the luminous mystery in which the entire universe with its forms and phenomena arises and subsides,” says Chopra. In “How to Know God” he says, “God is always there for you...” But if I am the mystery, and God is always there for me, how and where do I find God to help me solve the mystery? Michael Beckwith suggests you “Take this amazing mystical journey of your soul to engender a new vision of your life.” Beckwith has found the secret to wealth, as have many of the “Evolutionary Leaders” who are also successful entrepreneurs-and that’s fine. Who says you can’t be evolved and rich? But money never was the measure of who I am. I guess that’s why a career in public service suited me.

Bringing in The Light
My encounter with that implausible being in the Himalayas left an imprint on my awareness that remained with me all my life-until I met him once again in a dynamic young man named Panache Desai. After years of consciousness-speak, and spiritual intellectual-speak, and scientific proof of the biological effects of spiritual practices, and “mystical journeys of the soul,” finally I understand the celebrated line by T. S. Eliot: “We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.” Like illuminating a dimly lit room, from the moment I met Panache Desai a subtle shift in my awareness began to take root. A young spiritual master who walks the talk and transforms lives through the unbounded power of his love, Panache guides people to the realization of their own Divinity. And he has given me that indescribable experience of what some call the Christ Light.

Invite Panache to Your Hometown
Gail Soucy Lights Up Gainesville

Those who know Gail Soucy, would easily describe her as joyful, outgoing, gregarious, passionate - anything other than timid. However, when she decided to sponsor Panache’s return visit to her hometown of Gainesville Florida, she admits that she had to work passed some initial feelings of of shyness.

“I feel strongly about Panache and the message he shares” said Gail. “I knew there was a far greater audience that could deeply benefit by his message and that I could be the connector to make it happen. When trying to explain who Panache was, I decided to share my experience of him from my heart, and see how Gainesville responded.”

Indeed the residents of this North central Florida city opened their hearts to Gail’s sincere desire to share. More than 90 people turned out to meet Panache and experience their own brilliance as well as his energetic gift of awakening on a Thursday evening in June.

Gail first met Panache earlier this year during his inaugural visit to Ocala, a meeting that coincidentaly took place one week after her father’s death. “The experience was a gift,” explained Gail. “I had what I can only describe as an out-of-body experience where I travelled with my father. In that reconnection I knew in my soul that he was at peace. It provided a closing, a catharsis, a healing.”

To get the word out about Panache’s visit, Gail worked through a multi-pronged communications approach that began with her personal contacts including friends, hairstylists, nail technicians, and body workers. She then e-mailed her extensive business contact list. Gail copied the Gainesville event flyers (provided by Panache’s staff) and distributed them to every alternative wellness-related store in the greater Gainesville area. She went through the local health and well-being magazine and sent packets of information about Panache, his gift and her experience with him to each business that she felt had a fit with Panache’s message. Attached to each packet was a personalized, handwritten note from Gail asking them to do two things; attend the session and pass the information on to their clients. Throughout the whole process, Gail was supported and assisted by Panache’s office.

When Panache accepts an invitation to come to someone’s hometown, he covers the cost of facility rental and his own travel and personal expenses. “I need individuals to concentrate on making the connections and sharing from their heart, explains Panache. “That is why people are drawn to come.”

Panache depends on bright lights such as Gail to lay the foundation for his visits throughout communities across this country. “Gail is a completely open and loving human being who is dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of humanity. I was humbled by her hard work and honored by the degree her hometown responded,” said Panache.

Gail’s sincere approach struck a chord with those who were ready to experience energetic awakening. At the end of the evening, responses from the attendees were overwhelmingly positive. We heard over and over again how grateful people were to Gail for her hard work in laying the foundation for Panache’s visit. And they can’t wait for his return.

The Essence of Being

You live in an infinite universe filled with infinite possibilities.

Your life is the culmination of millions of factors coming into harmony with one another to create your specific experience. From the trillions of cells in the human body to the 6.8 billion people on this planet (which is essentially a blue ball floating in an infinite universe) one can only marvel at the design of it all. When you move out of your personal drama and step into the infinite majesty of every detail, life reveals itself for the miracle it is.

Take a moment to look at the people who so lovingly incarnated to give you the experience that you asked to have in order to come into a state of oneness or universality. Now examine their journeys and the masterful plan that occurred in order for their path to cross yours. Are you awed by the miracles? What are the chances that two souls out of 6.8 billion could ever find one another? The sheer immensity and wonder of it all can only leave one saying thank you. All you can do at the end of the day is hold your hands up and simply surrender to the next miracle.

Step out or your personal drama and into the infinite nature of your reality. Glimpse something greater and begin to embrace the miracle that is the gift of a human life.

Costa Rica - A Time of Rejuvenation
Summer Travels

Jan and I, together with Gary and Darcelle traveled to a remote part of Costa Rica for five days over the 4th of July. It was beautiful to get away from civilization, technology, phones and overstimulation. Being on the top of a mountain in relative isolation was like journeying back in time - living in harmony with one another and nature. Our single concern was who got to carry the machete as we traveled along overgrown rain forest paths. This journey further confirmed that one day we will all be able to live in harmony with ourselves and our environment.

It was an honor to meet Yogi Amrit Desai who through his loving service and devotion has played a pivotal part in shaping spirituality in America. Yogi Desai began teaching yoga in 1960, making him one of the earliest pioneers of yoga in the West. He is a graceful, elegant man who has shared the essence of yogic practice - yoga being one’s path of union with the DIvine. To people of all nationalities, ideologies and beliefs, his love and grace permeates all that he does.  My heart was filled with joy to be able to interact with a man who is one of the last of his kind - an Indian Spiritual Master.

How do you Manage?

Q:  You are such a loving and pure being. How do you manage the stress in life? What emotions do you still have a hard time managing? I know angry and sad aren’t bad emotions but what are those triggers in your life that challenge you most to stay truest to god?  - Laura A

A:  To be loving is our essential nature and it is not a trait that is exclusive only to me. It is the foundation of us all. As for managing my life- I’ve given up trying. Rather, I strive to be present to whatever I am feeling. So when something happens that makes me happy – I experience the joy. Conversely, when something upsets me, I acknowledge the pain or sadness. I accept my emotions allowing whatever is happening to simply happen. In not making my emotions bad or wrong I am freed from the state of suffering. Here is the gift in this process: when you accept your emotional state, it diminishes quickly. When you resist an emotion, it persists. Staying truest to God is staying truest to yourself. You are as God created you to be. Every emotion is a different aspect of the Divine – and the Divine never judges your state of being.

Stop judging yourself, simply experience life in its fullness and be free. - Panache
