19 Dec Band Together And Be The Change

Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20

At Williams Intermediate School in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, there’s a group of 5th grade boys who call themselves the “Band Of Brothers.” These little boys are extraordinarily kind, loving and filled with compassion. When the “Band of Brothers” heard other kids were bullying Danny Keefe, the six-year-old water boy for the local Pee Wee football team, they joined together and came to his rescue.

Danny Keefe is an easy mark for bullies.  He has a pronounced speech impediment and a habit of wearing a jacket and tie to class every day, which in the grade school social scene is like waving a red cape before a bull. To show their disapproval of Danny being teased, the “Band of Brothers” organized a “Danny Appreciation Day,” where all attendees dressed in their best suit and tie and got together to show solidarity for Danny and let him how much he’s loved.

“We heard that Danny was getting picked on. So, we thought we would all have a day to dress up like Danny and we would all come to school like Danny and sponsor Danny to show Danny that we love him very much,” stated one of Danny’s young friends through his tears.

There is a tremendous expansion that occurs when groups of people – even children, come together in the name of love. Souls that come to an innocent’s defense, that come to the aid of those struck by disaster, souls that want to commune with like minded beings and focus their energy on changing the world.  Whatever the intention, our single efforts are compounded exponentially when we join forces and become brothers in arms to save not only the weakest among us, but the entire planet. We cannot only transform our own energy from fear and lack into abundance and joy but a world filled with strife and pain to a planet of love and life.

We are, as individuals, magnificent beings filled with light and luminosity, but when we band together, hand in hand and heart to heart, we can show everyone on the planet how much they are loved.
