Defining What Wealth Is

In today’s world, it’s important to have an understanding of what wealth is. So picture this: You lose everything you have. Some of you might be on the verge of it and some of you are a long way away from it. Wherever you are right now, just imagine that you lose everything that you have.

In the event you lose everything you have, would you still be OK? If the answer is NO, then you are not wealthy. If the answer is yes, then you are wealthy.

As you evolve, you realize that wealth has nothing to do with money. Wealth has to do with your contribution, the love that you’ve shared, and the lives that you’ve touched. A person who has dedicated their entire lives to helping other people and loving other people will always have a place to sleep and somebody will always feed them at least one meal a day. This is wealth.

Once you understand you have wealth, you don’t have to worry about all of the other usual material concerns that everybody else has to worry about. You get to have all the experiences that everyone else is having without needing to own any of the ‘stuff’ that costs a lot of money.

To be wealthy is to know your abundance and to walk with God. We have forgotten as a species that it is important that we offer our service and our love. It’s about infusing our life with our love.

One of the fundamental things that is crucial to us as human beings to flourish is connection. Do you have connection? Do you have a place to be seen, heard and where you are able to be yourself? For some of you, Call to Calm daily meditations is that connection. I know it is for me. You make me feel normal.

The sharing of the love that we have is the most important thing. Some of you share that love through writing books, some of you share that love through work, what you do and what you create, or by taking care of others. It is the sharing of love that is the accumulation of wealth.

Rest in the awareness of your breath for a living meditation.
