06 Sep Whipping Fear Into Courage
Walking On Butter
There is a great quote from the movie, “Catch Me If You Can” which says,
“Two little mice fell into a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned, but the second mouse struggled so hard that he eventually churned that cream into butter and he walked out.”
Our journey in life is littered with “buckets of cream.” What those buckets represent lies solely in the eye of the beholder – tremendous opportunity or a deadly trap. It’s how we vibrationally navigate those buckets that make all the difference in the world. We can courageously tackle perceived obstacles as they come or we can fearfully fall into the darkness.
We all struggle with the energy of fear. It is a normal human response. Nature gave us the “fight or flight” conditioning to keep us safe from mortal danger, but more often than not those instinctual responses bleed into our less perilous everyday lives. Sometimes we don’t even know that we are afraid. Dread masquerades as “being cautious”, “looking out for myself”, or “just in case” solutions when what we’re really feeling is fear. When we admit that anxiety-laden situations, big decisions, and change make us fearful, our energy shifts from resistance to acceptance. We recognize that fear happens and once we embrace it, fear can actually be a catalytic energy that vibrationally drives us forward into something much greater in life.
I’ll bet you know people who topple into a greater life and, because of some manifestation of their fear, quickly give up and drown. We’ve seen this demonstrated by the epic celebrity meltdowns or CEO falls from grace of late. Some individuals come into a position of power, wealth, and status only to implode and tumble hard while other figures are steadfast and consistent year after year. That level of consistency inherently demonstrates an internal ability to vibrationally traverse the energy of fear consciously in the world.
As we navigate life’s buckets of cream, we can accept that our fear is normal and does not define us. We can whip our fright into butter, and climb out of the pail a better, stronger mouse, joyfully yelling back at fear, “Catch me if you can.”
